Adams
County Health Center is the leader in the State
of Idaho for the number of Health
Center Grassroots Advocate sign-ups.
Adams
County Health Center is the first to operate
a free standing telepharmacy project in the State
of Idaho, by unanimous approval of the Idaho
State Board of Pharmacy.
How We Became a Federally Qualified
Health Center
Council Community Hospital/Nursing Home closed on March
15, 2002 leaving a freestanding rural health clinic. The
nearest hospitals are located approximately one hour to the
north and to the south of Council.
The clinic struggled with providing services to the community
with very little income in 2003. It was clear the clinic
would not survive the next two to five years, leaving the
community without adequate health care services.
In June, 2004 the clinic applied for a Federally Qualified
Health Center designation. This designation was awarded on
December 1, 2004 and the Adams County Health Center was born.
