What services are available?
Primary and preventative health care, obstetric care, primary and preventative dental health care, psychosocial rehabilitation services, telepharmacy, case management services, x-ray and laboratory.

How much does it cost?
Services are provided on a sliding fee scale dependent upon income and household size. The minimum charge for primary care, laboratory, x-ray, and behavioral health services is $20 or the actual customary charge, whichever is less. The minimum charge for dental health services is $55 or the actual customary charge, whichever is less. This applies only to the services provided at the Adams County Health Center.

What is a sliding fee scale?
The amount a person must pay for services at the health center is based upon a household’s annual income and the number of people living in the household.

Do I need to register for the sliding fee before I come for my first visit?
If you wish to apply the sliding fee to your current visit, you will need to return the completed application and submit your verification data with five (5) working days of the visit.

We would appreciate having the application filled out at the time of service to make sure that your visit qualifies for the sliding fees. The sliding fee application can be viewed and printed off this website to help you fill out this form before your visit.

What kinds of insurance do you accept?

We accept private insurance plans as well as Medicaid and Medicare.

What kind of women’s health services are offered?
Routine examinations are available at the health center. Additionally, a mobile mammography unit from Boise’s St. Alphonsus Hospital make regular visits to the health center.

What are Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs)?

Federally Qualified Health Centers are local, non-profit, community-owned health care providers serving members of the community regardless of ability to pay. These centers are the family doctor and health care home to 1 out of 8 uninsured Americans. FQHCs receive federal grants from the Health Resources and Services Administration Bureau of Primary Health Care to help defray the costs of running a health clinic.

How are community health centers unique from privately owned health centers?

Community Health Centers’ services are provided on a sliding fee scale that is based on household income. and they serve members of the surrounding community in which they are located, regardless of the individual patient’s ability to pay.

What is the Idaho Primary Care Association?
The IPCA operates a cooperative statewide network. Idaho has 11 Community Health Centers and one Federally Qualified Health Center “Look-Alike. They are located in 33 communities throughout the State of Idaho
and 3 Malheur County, Oregon communities. As Idaho’s primary care association, IPCA receives support from the Federal Bureau of Primary Health Care to assist the Association in achieving its mission.

It is dedicated to the concept that everyone deserves quality health care and is particularly committed to providing a full range of care to the underserved, low-income or uninsured patients.

Additionally, IPCA’s goal is to create and support fresh opportunities that promote an ever more effective primary care network for the benefit of the most vulnerable patients.

There are currently 20 IPCA members. In addition to the Adams County Health Center are health centers located in Coeur d’Alene, Plummer, Bonners Ferry, Twin Falls, Glenns Ferry, Pocatello, Idaho Falls, Nampa, and Payette.
